Install it on both Macs
Put TreasureScreen on the Mac you want to use and on the Mac you're sitting at.
See and use your Mac Studio, Mac mini, or any other Mac right on your MacBook. It's sharp, it's smooth, and it feels like you're sitting in front of it.
For Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 14.2 or later. Put it on both Macs. Version 0.20.1, 28 MB.

cable is enough
Plug any USB-C cable between two Macs and they find each other. Nothing to set up.
No account to make and nothing to sign in to. Pair your two Macs one time, and after that the other Mac is always one click away.
Put TreasureScreen on the Mac you want to use and on the Mac you're sitting at.
Click Share This Mac. A small icon appears in its menu bar, where you copy its connection link.
Paste the link one time. After that, the other Mac is one click away.
Connect the two Macs with a USB-C cable and they find each other. A Thunderbolt cable gives the best picture.
On the same network, your Macs find each other on their own. Away from home, connect through Tailscale with no router settings to change.
Plug in a capture card to see anything with an HDMI port, like a game console, a camera, or a Mac that isn't set up yet.
The moment you connect, your keyboard and trackpad work on the other Mac. Press ⌃⌘Esc any time to take them back.
Music, videos, and calls on the other Mac play through this Mac's speakers or headphones.
Your microphone works on the other Mac, so you can take calls and record from where you're sitting.
Use this Mac's camera on the other one, or bring its camera here. Any video app can pick it.
Thumb drives, SD cards, and external disks plugged into this Mac show up on the other one.
Click, scroll, pinch, and swipe the way you always do.
While you're connected, the other Mac won't dim, sleep, or lock on you.
You don't have to take the whole screen. Bring over one window from the other Mac, or up to eight, and use each one like any window on this Mac.
TreasureScreen for iPhone and iPad shows your Mac and lets you use it with your fingers. Tap to click, drag two fingers to scroll, and type with a keyboard that has the Mac keys you need. The Mac's sound plays right on your phone.
The iPhone and iPad app isn't in the App Store yet.
There's no account and no TreasureScreen server in the middle. Your Macs talk straight to each other, and only a Mac you've paired can connect.
No account, no email, no password to remember. You pair your Macs with a private link.
Everything between your two Macs is encrypted, even over a cable.
Anyone with your Mac's connection link can use it, so share it only with your own Macs or someone you trust.
TreasureScreen comes with a command you can type in Terminal. Anything you can do in the app, a script or an AI assistant can do too.
# Show your Mac Studio $ treasurescreen view "Mac Studio" # Click and type on it $ treasurescreen click 640 400 && treasurescreen type "hello" # Save what's on its screen $ treasurescreen screenshot ~/Desktop/studio.png # Lend it this Mac's microphone $ treasurescreen mic on
Yes. Install TreasureScreen on the Mac you want to use and on the Mac you're sitting at. Both need Apple silicon and macOS 14.2 or later.
Yes. Once that Mac is set up and sharing is on, it doesn't need a monitor at all: with nothing plugged in, it makes its own screen sized to your MacBook. The very first macOS setup still needs a screen and keyboard, or a capture card to see it.
Over a cable or good Wi-Fi it's smooth, at up to 120 frames a second. For the sharpest text, pick Best Color in the Video menu and every pixel arrives exactly. On a slow connection a busy screen updates less often, but text and menus stay exact.
Yes, through Tailscale. Install Tailscale on both Macs and TreasureScreen connects over it. You don't have to change anything on your router.
No. Install it, click Share This Mac on one Mac, and paste its link on the other. The first time, macOS asks you to allow screen recording and a couple of other things on the shared Mac.
It can't control a Mac that's sitting at its login screen, or one where someone else is signed in at the screen. Unusual USB gadgets, like security keys and game controllers, can't be passed across. The iPhone and iPad app isn't in the App Store yet.
TreasureScreen checks for a new version once a day and asks before it installs one. You can also choose Check for Updates in the TreasureScreen menu.
Put TreasureScreen on both Macs, share one, and connect from the other.
